Your First Influencer Campaign: A Checklist for Small Brands

A practical checklist for running a first creator campaign on a small budget: goal, brief, creators, contracts, payment and measuring results.

1. Pick one goal

Awareness, content you can reuse, or sales. One goal decides who you pick, what you ask for and how you measure it.

2. Set a budget you can afford to learn with

Treat the first campaign as a test. Several smaller creators often teach you more than one large one.

3. Write the brief

Product, goal, key messages, must-avoid topics, deliverables, deadlines, usage rights, disclosure and payment terms.

4. Shortlist and contact creators

See how to find creators by niche. Send each one a personal note, not a mass email.

5. Put it in writing and fund it

Agree terms in writing and fund the deal before work starts so creators can trust you.

6. Measure what matters

Use unique links or discount codes per creator, and track the goal you picked in step 1. Keep the content: it is often useful for ads and your own channels.
